Hoso Kumiage Katana (KTN3)

Thaitsuki Nihonto is steeped in tradition and quality with blades produced by a family forge thats been perfecting their art for over 400 years. The Sivrat family first obtains the finest quality high carbon Japanese steel to produce their Hoso Kumiage Katana, which is forged in the oldest tradition in Japanese swordmaking, the Yamato Nihonto tradition.

The Hoso Kumiage Japanese Sword (KTN3) is specially handmade and forged in the Yamato Nihonto tradition, which is considered to be the oldest tradition in japanese swordmaking. This forging metheod and premium quality, high carbon Japanese steel makes an extremely sharp, durrable and flexible blade with bo-hi (groove).
The full tang blade is hand forged from high carbon Japanese steel - Notare Hamon Edge Hardness= 60-63 HRC,Body Hardness=30-33 HRC with abreviated Bo-Hi so strength is not sacrified toward the end of the blade.

This forging process and hard-won mastery of tempering steel produces a functional katana with more flexibility, strength and sharp-edge durability than most competitors in the marketplace. This superior blade, coupled with authentic, handcrafted, high-quality furniture creates an offering to the sword community that is ummatched at this price point. This Hoso Kumiage Japanese Katana will evoke true pride-of-ownership as well as superior competition performance.

Features: The double pegged Tsuka (handle) is authentic same' (ray skin) and the Tsuka Ito (wrap) is black Japanese silk, also available in golded brown (special order, please inquire). The Menuki, Kashira and Fuchi (sword fittings) are all hand crafted in silver. The natural oxidization process creates a gorgeous antique-looking patina over time.

Thaitsuki does not overlook the saya as part of the finished product. A hand rubbed black lacquered hardwood saya with black horn Koiguchi enhances your investment. The Hoso Kumiage Katana, which can be completely disassembled for full maintenance, is a fully functional Japanese sword, not a replica.
